1. Description

The Thermotec Neo Inverter range of pool heat pumps offer an excellent inverter driven heat pump at a low cost with high value for money. HeatPumps4Pools are the leading specialist supplier of swimming pool heat pumps. We have many years of experience in the market and have used our expertise to research and design our own range of Thermotec swimming pool heat pumps.

The Thermotec Neo Inverter range are fully inverter driven. This means that they automatically adjust the speed of the fan and compressor to precisely match the heat demand from the pool. Both the fan and compressor automatically adjust their speed to match the pool heat demand, therefore once the pool is up to temperature, the unit can operate with reduced power consumption and noise.

The ability to adjust the output of the pool heat pump allows the Thermotec Neo Inverter to deliver greatly reduced running costs with COPs of up to 10. This means that for every 1kw of electricity used by the heat pump, 10kw of heat is delivered to the pool. This delivers reduced running costs compared with other heat pumps on the market. The COP (Coefficient of Performance) is the ratio of the amount of heat (in kw) that the heat pump delivers to your pool compared to the electricity that the heat pump uses (in kw).

In addition the inverter technology has a reduced electrical startup requirement, making them ideal for properties with a sensitive or limited electrical supply. The Thermotec Neo Inverter can out-perform traditional on/off type heat pumps as well as many other inverter driven models.

Even as the outside air temperature falls, the Thermotec Neo Inverter will still perform well, delivering heat to your pool.

The Thermotec Neo Inverter heat pumps can work well with outside air temperatures as low as -7c

For koi ponds, we recommend using the Thermotec Inverter Pro models due to higher heat output in cold weather, however the Thermotec Neo range can be used for koi ponds if used in conjunction with an electric backup heater. The electric heater can provide additional heat in very cold weather.

The Neo Inverter 5kw, 7kw, 9kw and 12kw can be run from a standard 13A UK Plug, larger models need to be hardwired as they can exceed 13A. The 5kw, 7kw, 9kw and 12kw come with a free 3m plug and play cable kit. This is a heavy duty piece of round flex cable with a 13A UK plug on the end.

 

For above ground pools, you can also use one of our pre-made Connection Kits. These allow the Intex type hoses with grey nuts to be connected to the heat pump.

For a koi pond that is heated all year round with a winter temperature of around 12c and a summer temperature of around 20-22c, we recommend the following sizing:-

Note: If the Thermotec Neo heat pumps are used on a koi pond over winter then an electric backup heater should be installed to provide additional heat in cold weather

All pools and ponds should be covered to prevent heat loss and save on running costs by preserving the heat in the water.

Pools should be covered with either a solar cover (outside) or a Thermal Blanket (indoor pools) for approx 20 hours a day to maximise the savings from energy wasted by heat loss from the surface of the pool water.

For outside pools the solar covers absorb energy which is passed to the pool through conduction, while the transmission properties of the bubble layer allows for Infrared Radiation (IR) wavelengths to pass through the material and be directly absorbed by the water. The material provides a barrier to evaporation, giving the pool the ability to preserve water and reduce heat loss through evaporative cooling. Prevention of evaporative losses has the largest impact on maintaining a pool’s temperature, responsible for 70% of the heat loss from the pool. EnergyGuard Selective Transmission has been tested to prevent over 98% of evaporative losses.

The Thermotec Neo Inverter display will show:-

• There is a protective flap over the display to protect it from the weather and UV rays from the sun

5. Optional Extras

Designed & Built For Long Life & Reliability

2 x 50mm to 1.5″ Adaptors plus Glue		Note: These heat pumps come with 50mm Unions for the use with 1.5″ Solid pipework – with this you will need to purchase 2 x 50mm to 1.5″ Adaptors plus a bottle of glue as listed on the optional extras.
Threaded 1.5″ Hosetails plus Jubliee Clips		For above ground pools please choose 2 x 1.5″ Threaded Hosetail’s and 2 x Jubliee clips which are available on the listing as an optional extra. This will allow you to connect 32mm/38mm flexi hose.
Heavy Duty Mounting Feet		These heat pumps come with rubber mounting feet (see photo above). Alternatively you can purchase these heavy duty Mounting Feet. These raise the unit off the ground by approximately 100mm, and also help to reduce vibration. Please see our Mounting Feet and Slabs section for more information.

7. Warranty & Support

The Thermotec Neo Inverter heat pumps come with a 2-year warranty on all components and 5-year warranty on the compressor and heat exchanger:-

• 2-year parts and labour warranty on all components
• 5-year warranty on the compressor and heat exchanger
• Europe and Outside the UK: Warranty is parts only warranty or return to us in the UK (customer pays transport cost). If spare parts are required, they will be sent free of charge to a UK address. If they are to be shipped outside the UK, the customer pays the international shipping cost

We recommend that you retain the pallet and packaging that the heat pump was delivered with in case you need to return the unit to us for repairs under the warranty.

The warranty will not apply where the heat pump has been installed incorrectly, or has been damaged by freezing

We are happy to provide technical support for all Thermotec Inverter swimming pool heat pumps that we supply.

We hold spare parts to support all Thermotec Neo Inverter heat pumps both during and after the warranty period.

9. Installation
